Luton Airport not selected for Ebola screening, government says

LUTON airport has not been selected as a danger spot for Ebola, the government has said.

Last night the UK government identified points of entry into the UK that will have screening processes put in place to help highlight people who might bring the disease into the country.

The points of entry, which are Heathrow and Gatwick airports and Eurostar terminals, were identified following advice from the UK's Chief Medical Officer.

Luton Airport said they had not been identified as a dangerous point of entry but already have protocols in place for identifying and dealing with passengers showing symptoms of contagious illnesses.

The airport said it will react to any change that the government makes regarding the illness, but as of yet have not had any instruction to change their directives.

In light of the recent outbreak of Ebola the airport has put up posters provided by the government to educate passengers on the illness.
