Fans of the WB series '7th Heaven' remember Goldberg as the love interest to Matthew Camden, played by Barry Watson.
Her character, Sarah Glass, was a medical student and daughter to rabbi played by Richard Lewis.
'She would walk down the street here, or places in Wisconsin, and people would come up to her and say, 'You played the daughter' ' of the rabbi, her mom added to the Sun-Times.
'She wanted to go to medical school, and instead for three years she played a doctor on '7th Heaven.'

Goldberg's Sarah married Watson's character on the show, who was the son to pastor-dad actor Stephen Collins, in Season 6.
News of Goldberg's tragic passing comes on the heels of the shocking revelation that Collins is under investigation for alleged sexual abuse claims involving three underage girls.
A recording was released Tuesday on TMZ of him allegedly confessing the acts during a therapy session in January 2012 with his estranged wife, Faye Grant.
