Found: Prosthetic limb stolen from Vietnam era vet at Eagles

Philadelphia Police have recovered the prosthetic leg stolen from a Vietnam era veteran and well-known street musician Sunday during the Giants-Eagles game.

While the Giants were getting pummeled by the Eagles, 57-year-old Sonny Forriest Jr. operating a motorized scooter had his prosthetic leg stolen by an unidentified woman around 8:30 p.m. Sunday in the lot of Citizens Bank Park, home of the Phillies.

Forriest, famous for singing at Phillies games, was performing in the parking lot when unidentified woman, reportedly wearing Eagles gear, stole the prosthetic leg off the man's scooter and took off, according to Philadelphia Police Chief Insp. Joe Sullivan.

'She jumped in my lap,' Forriest Jr. told NBC Philadelphia. 'She gripped my leg and I didn't even know it. I looked down and she took my leg! Then she disappeared! A young lady came up, snatched my leg off my chair and took off!'

Sullivan said the limb was valued at $2,000.

'I have to say this is the first (prosthetic limb theft at an Eagles game),' Sullivan told the Daily News after Philly's 27-0 win over the Giants. 'It's certainly not a joke. No, it's unique but very unfortunate. Certainly it's not funny. We're going to do our best to find the woman.'

The missing leg was located several miles away at Fern Rock Transportation Center, a bus and rail hub in Olney, Pa., Monday at 1 a.m., NBC reported.

Inside the stadium, Sullivan said there were a number of fights in the stands and fan ejections, without giving an exact number. He said the game was 'above average' in terms of arrests but not the worst he's seen.
