Nearly 3,000 dentists nationwide are paying cash for your kids' Halloween candy.
The Halloween Candy Buy Back program was established in 2007 by Charles Kammer, a Wisconsin dentist, who wanted to get rid of 'the glut of the candy.'
Kids can get $1 for every one pound of candy they turn in. The program website includes a zip code locator to find your nearest participating dentist.
The candy is then delivered to troops as part of care packages through Operation Gratitude. Last year, more than 250,000 pounds of candy were delivered to troops, Kammer said.
'This should be dentists' national response to Halloween,' he said.
