Samuel L. Jackson delivers 'Boy Meets World' slam poetry on 'Tonight Show'

'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' doesn't just feature perfect musical parodies. Far from it. It also delivers spot-on slam poetry parodies, as guest Samuel L. Jackson proved with his ode to 1990s sitcom 'Boy Meets World' on Monday night.

'Boy meets world. Boy greets world. Hello, world. I am Cory Matthews. Short and average, head full of curls, the year 1993. We see two boys who lack both brains and brawn....' began Jackson after a solemn introduction by Fallon, puffing on an e-cigarette.

Soon enough, Jackson is tapping on his chest, emoting: 'Topanga, Topanga, Topanga,' until it becomes a cri de coeur.

Fans loved it, of course, and said so on Twitter:

'Boy Meets World' is having something of a nostalgia renaissance lately, in part thanks to the Disney Channel spin-off 'Girl Meets World,' which focuses on some of the characters' lives years later. A photo tweeted from the show's set last month generated a lot of buzz when it showed some other favorite 'Boy' regulars appearing in a holiday-themed episode.

'Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' airs weeknights on NBC at 11:35 p.m.
