CNN commentator Don Lemon is dealing with an onslaught of criticism after asking a self-reported rape victim why she didn't use physical force to prevent her sexual assault.
In an interview, Joan Tarshis recounts her story that Cosby forced oral sex upon her.
In response, Lemon said 'You know, there are ways not to perform oral sex if you didn't want to do it.'
He then pressed her on why she did not use 'teeth as a weapon.'
'Oh. Um, I was kind of stoned at the time, and quite honestly, that didn't even enter my mind. Now I wish it would have,' Tarshis said.
Many columnists across the country have taken Lemon to task for putting the onus to prevent rape on the accuser including The Washington Post, which said that his comments were 'strange, stunning and irresponsible.'
Twitter had even more fury with the hashtag #DonLemonReporting.
No official CNN statement has been made yet.
