'Star Wars' fans have reason to give thanks this holiday weekend.
The first trailer for 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens,' director J.J. Abrams' eagerly awaited new installment in the iconic sci-fi franchise will debut this Friday in select Regal Cinemas, the theater chain announced.
Since the trailer will only be shown in nine theaters -- including the Regal Union Square 14 in Manhattan --however, not even a Jedi master may able to score tickets over the weekend given the certain demand.
The other theaters are the Irvine, Calif.'s Edwards Irvine Spectrum 22 & IMAX, San Diego's Edwards Mira Mesa Stadium 18, Atlanta's Regal Atlantic Station Stadium 18, Chicago's Regal City North Stadium 14 Pennsylvania's Regal Warrington Crossing Stadium 22, Knoxville, Tenn.'s Regal Pinnacle Stadium 18, Houston's Marq'E Stadium 23 and Seattle's Regal Thornton Place Stadium 14.

Usually trailers either piggyback a specific movie or run across a given theater chain; this type of concentrated release is as rare as a hairless Wookiee.
But then again, nothing is typical about 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens,' aka 'Episode VII.'
The first installment in a new trilogy, 'The Force Awakens,' sees the return of original 'Star Wars' trilogy stars Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Anthony Daniels (C-3P0), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) and Kenny Baker (R2-D2).

Newcomers John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o, Daisy Ridley and Andy Serkis round out the cast.
The movie doesn't hit theaters until Dec. 18, 2015, but industry insiders are expecting the first addition to the franchise since Disney bought Lucasfilm for $4 billion in 2012 to rival 'Avatar' for the highest grossing film of all time.
