'Thor' star Chris Hemsworth is People magazine's 2014 'Sexiest Man Alive.'
The 31-year-old Aussie, Hollywood's version of a god among men, was unveiled Wednesday on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!'
'It's the nuclear launch code of magazine covers,' Kimmel joked. 'It has two criteria. One: You must be sexy. Two: You must be alive.'
Kimmel made the big reveal by allowing his Los Angeles-based studio audience to guess the new sexiest man's identity by asking questions via Skype.
'No, not really,' the still-anonymous man said.
The responses came rapid-fire after that.
'Have you ever played a superhero in a movie?'
'Yes.'
'Do you have a famous sibling?'
'Yes.'
Then someone dropped the hammer.
Hemsworth has been a hunky hit ever since he landed the hammer-swinging role of 'Thor' in the Marvel Comics film adaptation in 2011. He's reprised the character through three more films, including 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' due out next year. He has three children with 38-year-old Spanish model, Elsa Pataky. The couple married in 2010.
'I think you've bought me a couple of weeks of bragging rights around the house,' Hemsworth told People. 'I can just say to her, 'Now remember, this is what the people think, so I don't need to do the dishes anymore, I don't need to change nappies. I'm above that. I've made it now.''
Hemsworth, whose younger brother Liam stars in 'The Hunger Games' franchise, shares the People cover with fellow Marvel actors Idris Elba and Chris Pratt. The magazine hits newsstands on Friday.
Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine was People's choice in 2013.
'Anyone you want to thank?' Kimmel asked.
'My parents,' Hemsworth said, 'for putting all this together.'
