Mississippi State marches down the field on their first drive thanks in part to some terrible tackling.


UK could have made a big play with star quarterback Dak Prescott fumble, but he recovers the ball. On the next play, Josh Robinson runs it in from the 12. Mississippi State jumps out to a 7-0 lead.


UK quickly strikes. Patrick Towles hits Demarco Robinson, who does a terrific job running after making the catch. The 67 yard TD play ties the game at 7.


UK went from really bad to really good defensively on Mississippi State's next series. Jabari Johnson stops Josh Robinson for a three yard loss, then safety Blake McClain destroys Joe Morrow who can't hold onto the pass, so Mississippi State is forced to punt.


It's tough to beat the number one team in the country when you turn the ball over. Braylon Heard fumbles. Mississippi State takes over at the 19. UK's defense was strong, and forces Mississippi State to settle for a field goal. Evan Sobiesk hits it from the 26 yard line. Mississippi State goes up 10-7.


Mississippi State takes a ten point lead thanks to QB Dak Prescott. His 2 yard run makes it 17-7.


UK was putting together a nice drive when a dropped pass by Blake Bone, and then a poor pass to Bone slowed things down. Austin MacGinnis hits a 34 yard field goal. Mississippi State leads 17-10.


Mississippi State was trying to take over the game. Somehow, Dak Prescott breaks free and runs for 38 yards. But, Blake McClain breaks up what might have been a TD pass to Fred Brown. Evan Sobiesk misses a 42 yard field goal and it remains 17-10 Mississippi State.


Late in the first half, Bud Dupree hits Dak Prescott. His floating pass is picked off by Josh Forrest. Patrick Towles hits Ryan Timmons on a 21 yard pass with less than 5 seconds to go in the half. That set up Austin MacGinnis, but the talented freshman misses the 50 yard field goal. Mississippi State leads UK 17-10 at the half.


Mississippi State gets the ball to start the second half and looks like a championship team. Dak Prescott runs over Ashely Lowery on his way to an 11 yard TD run. Mississippi State goes up 24-10. It's a strong 11 play 75 yard drive.


UK had to answer right away to stay in the game, and they did.


Patrick Towles puts his team on his back. First it's a tough 48 yard run. Towles finishes the drive with a ten yard TD run. Mississippi State leads 24-17.


Josh Robinson runs 22 yards in what has to be one of the best runs we've seen at Commonwealth in a long time. He broke 7 tackles and ran all over the field.


Brandon Hill then catches a soft 8 yard pass from Dak Prescott and Mississippi State goes up 31-14.


Kentucky comes right back with a great play. Patrick Towles with the perfect pass to Javess Blue. The 58 yard TD makes it 31-24 Mississippi State.


In the 4th quarter, Josh Robinson with a unbelieveable 73 yard TD run. Mississippi State goes up 38-24 with 11:47 to go.


Patrick Towles does it again. This time a 4 yard TD run to make it 38-31 with 2:31 to go. It was a 7 [play 71 yard drive that takes only 1:25.


UK did the obvious with the onside kick. They faked to one side and kicked to the other side. Christian Holmes for Mississippi State takes the kick and goes 61 yards for the score. With 2:22 to go Mississippi State leads 45-31.


Mississippi State wins 45-31.


Patrick Towles put up some great numbers. 23 of 42 passes for 380 yards and 2TD's. He also ran for 84 yards on 22 carries.


Dak Prescott finishes with 18 of 33 passing for 216 yard, 1 TD and 1 pick. He ran for 88 yards on 18 carries.


Towles finishes with 464 yards. Prescott who many believe is the best player in college football had 304 yards.
