At least 25 people have been killed and several injured in stampede during a Dusssehra event at Patna's Gandhi Maidan.
According to District Magistrate of Patna, Manish Kumar Verma, 25 people were killed and 15 have been critically injured.
The stampede took place as a crowd of over 50,000 people, which had gathered to watch the event, tried to exit from the solitary gate open on the southern end of the maidan.
Identity of the victims is yet to be ascertained.
This is the second such tragedy in less than a year on a festival - the last being during Chhath last year when 21 persons were reported dead.
The injured have been taken to Patna Medical College Hospital.
