Defense minister of Liberia Brownie Samukai welcomed President Obama's announcement that the US military will provide aid to the health workers fighting against Ebola virus.
Samukai is at the moment in the United States. He said that his current visit is intended to draw world's attention toward the gravity of the issue the country is in.
Obama announced on Sunday that the US military would help in the fight against Ebola virus. The US military will have tasks of providing equipment as well as security to the international health workers.
Samukai said that their government is looking forward to the US help. He told that his current visit included meetings with officials of defense department as well as congress leaders.
He further told that Liberia's economy froze due to this deadly virus that had caused an emergency situation in the country. Due to these economic issues, they couldn't respond to the virus in an effective way.
