Two people are reported dead after two planes collided and one of the planes crashed Saturday in Lancaster, in Erie County. That according to The Buffalo News which says the other plane was able to land safely in a field in Alden.
The newspaper says the pilot and a boy who was aboard were killed.
A woman who lives nearby told the Buffalo News she saw one plane struggle for altitude and heard it crash in an old farm field behind some woods.
She immediately called 911.
People at the scene of the crashed plane said that a kids day was being held at the Lancaster Airport, and that the crashed plane was associated with that event.
The second plane was able to recover and landed safely in a field in Alden. The pilot of that aircraft and a 9 year-old girl walked away from that plane, according to authorities quoted by the Buffalo newspaper.
