RG3 is down and out, and it doesn't look good.
Washington Redskins starting quarterback Robert Griffin III had to be carted off the field after injuring his left leg in the first quarter of Sunday's Week 2 home opener against Jacksonville. As he was being driven away to the locker room, his face said it all - he was in tears after the pain.
Griffin was injured while falling hard out of bounds while completing a 19-yard pass to wide receiver DeSean Jackson. He was immediately face down on the ground before he needed to be help off the sidelines.
Backup quarterback Kirk Cousins took over for Griffin at the 9:00 minute mark, and two plays later, made his first pass attempt count with a 20-yard touchdown strike to fullback Darrel Young. It didn't take long for the Redskins to rule out RG3 for the rest of the game, another bad sign.
It's looking like Cousins will need to be a long-term replacement starter for Washington this season.
