An announcement has been made by the Obama administration on Thursday to handle the increasing threat of antibiotic resistance. A national strategy has been outlined which includes incentives for new drugs, tightening existing one's stewardship as well as bettering tracking of antibiotics' use and microbes that resist to them.
White House effort is the first action to tackle a public health crisis as the issue takes 23,000 lives per year. It comes as a pleasure for many people as president addresses the issue. There has been criticism on the step because many people say that tougher measure ought to be taken to reduce use of antibiotics in agriculture.
There was a warning by researchers on the use of antibiotics that are also called miracle drugs. 20 th century saw this drug changing the way of human health but it is losing effect now due to overuse. Some also say that if its use is not curbed now we shall return back to the time before antibiotics.
