The baby couldn't wait.
A California woman, assisted by her husband, gave birth in the passenger seat of a Chevy Tahoe on the side of an Orange County freeway early Saturday morning.
Sandra Vilchez, 29, wasn't due until Friday, so she and her family were traveling from Wildomar to visit her mom in Downey.
Along the way, she started having contractions.
'I told my husband, 'I think she's coming now,'' Sandra told the Ocean County Register.

Her water broke before they could make it the hospital.
Dad Bolivar Vilchez, a Marine Corps veteran, pulled over on the 91 Freeway near Kraemer Boulevard and, with the help of the 911 dispatcher, delivered a healthy baby girl before the paramedics got to the scene.
'I was terrified,' Bolivar said.
Savannah weighed 11 pounds, 6 ounces and was 22 inches long, according to the paper.
Meanwhile, the couple's other young children, ages 6, 4 and 3, were all in the middle row of the car.
'The whole time, I said, 'We're fine, we're fine,'' Sandra told the Register.
Firefighters arrived in time to cut little Savannah's cord. Mom and baby were taken to nearby Kaiser Permanente Anaheim Medical Center and are doing well, CBS LA reported.
'It was shocking, honestly shocking,' Sandra told the station. 'It was like out of a movie.'
