Kenan Thompson is looking for a new way to spend his weekends.

The comic actor is planning on leaving 'Saturday Night Live' at the end of the upcoming season, TMZ is reporting.

The 36-year-old former child star, who made his 'SNL' debut in 2003, has already logged more time on the NBC sketch comedy series than any on-screen star other than Darrell Hammond, Seth Meyers and Fred Armisen.

Thompson is eyeing a new show and a move to Los Angeles at the end of the season, according to the TMZ report, had wanted to leave previously, but stayed on for one more season at producer Lorne Michael's request.

Heading into Saturday's season premiere, the show has already endured some upheaval with half of last year's featured players not returning to the show - though Mike O'Brien is heading back to the writer's room.

Former 'Daily Show' correspondent Michael Che is joining the show co-host of the popular 'Weekend Update' series. And Hammond returns to fill the void left by late announcer Don Pardo.
