Two passenger jets bumped into each other on the ground at Boston's Logan Airport this morning and no injuries were reported to passengers and crew, according to Massport spokesman Matthew Brelis.

The incident involved a Southwest Airlines aircraft, preparing to depart for Kansas City, that was backing out from its gate, Massport said. The left winglet of the Southwest Boeing 737 struck the right horizontal stabilizer of a Jet Blue A-320 aircraft, Brelis said.

The Jet Blue aircraft was empty and did not suffer any damage, Brelis said.

The Southwest aircraft sustained some damage and passengers were taken off the aircraft to be rerouted by the airline, Brelis said.

The incident took place around 7:08 a.m. today, Brelis said.

No injuries were reported.

The ground incident did not impact flight operations, Massport said.

The incident is under investigation by the FAA.
