LOS ANGELES - A man armed with an assault rifle was last seen standing on the roof of a home near an elementary school in Los Angeles.
Authorities attempted to pull over a Nissan Altima after learning the driver allegedly made threats against another person.
The man was able to elude officers by entering and exiting several freeways, including the 101, 110, 10 and 5.
According to KTLA, the car nearly collided with several other vehicles.
At one point, the driver held what looked like an assault rifle out of the car's window.
He stopped the car, grabbed the gun and began walking through a residential neighborhood in North Hollywood.
A few minutes later, he was seen on the roof of a home or garage near Oakwood Elementary School.
Residents in the area are being told to shelter in place.
This is a developing story.
