Line workers from out of state give up holiday to help CMP

GARDINER, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Hundreds of tree and line crews from out of state are giving up their holiday and joining forces with CMP to help knock some of the outages down.

Central Maine Power crews are focused on the midcoast and Augusta areas. There's a mobile inventory set up at Gardiner Area High School so CMP crews don't have to travel far to drop off broken equipment or pick up new lines or transformers.

CMP president and CEO, Sara Burns, says Monday's freezing rain set the restoration process back. Any outages that were restored, were knocked out again by Monday night.
