Authorities in Adams County have arrested one man in connection with a Wednesday triple homicide and another remains at large.
The county sheriff's office is searching for Furman Lee Leyba, 30, who ' should be considered dangerous' though it is unknown if he is armed, officials say.
The sheriff's office says they 'have confirmed' the man taken into a custody after a high-speed chase in Jefferson County on Wednesday evening was involved in the triple fatal shooting. His name has not been released.
The high-speed chase Wednesday afternoon started in Golden, went through Morrison and ended just off of C-470.
A spokesman for the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said the suspect was driving a black Jeep Wrangler - which authorities had been seeking in connection with the shooting - and was apprehended at about 4:15 p.m.
According to reports, the chase Wednesday afternoon started on 6th Avenue, just outside Golden, when the suspect started driving the wrong way in the eastbound lanes.
Authorities found the three shooting victims about 7:20 a.m. after a call came in from a 'hysterical female who said there was a disturbance at the home and hung up immediately,' Cmdr. Terrance O'Neill said.
Officials immediately said they had identified a person of interest in the slayings.
O'Neill said the investigation will be a 'long, meticulous search.' The three victims were not identified, and O'Neill said their relationship was not known.
'I just heard some people arguing,' said Sheri Catalina, who was nearby before the killings. 'A man and a woman were arguing outside.'
A large section of Broadway and surrounding streets was closed until about 3 p.m.
'There are some witnesses that are being interviewed,' O'Neill said.
Investigators walked shoulder to shoulder for several blocks along Cragmore Street as they scoured the area for evidence.
