Two men were arrested Wednesday and charged with raping a drunk 16-year-old girl at a Johns Hopkins University frat house party last month in Baltimore, police said.
Chaz Haggins, 20, and Ethan Turner, 19, were collared for the Nov. 2 rape at the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity on St. Paul St., an off-campus house. The girl reportedly told cops the two men raped her around 4 a.m. inside a bathroom at a party, according to the Baltimore Sun.
Both men are from suburban Reisterstown, Md., about 20 miles northwest of Baltimore.
The teen girl from Baltimore County, who had a blood alcohol content of 0.11, told police she'd attended the gathering with her sister and was forced to perform sex acts on the men before they raped her, the paper reported.
Neither the two men nor the girl are students at the university, spokesman Dennis O'Shea told the Daily News.
'Johns Hopkins is pleased to learn there have been arrests in this case,' the university said in a statement. 'We are most grateful to Baltimore police and prosecutors for their active, diligent investigation and to our own security officers for providing assistance. The victim in this case continues to be in the hearts and minds of our university community.'
The reported rape comes months after Hopkins was accused of not telling the campus community that a rape was reported in 2013 at the off-campus Pi Kappa Alpha frat house.
Not doing so violated a federal law, according to a complaint filed by students and obtained by the Sun.
After the November incident, the school notified students of the reported rape and banned frat social events for the remainder of the fall semester. Sigma Alpha Epsilon has been placed on 'interim suspension ... based on reports of underage drinking and other possible violations of university policy at the party that night,' the statement reads.
Haggins and Turner faces charges of rape and conspiracy to commit rape. Both are held without bail at the Baltimore City Detention Center.
