If 'The Hunger Games' bestselling book trilogy and blockbuster movie quartet weren't enough, the pop culture juggernaut is headed to the stage.
A 'theatrical experience' based on the mega-franchise will launch in summer 2016 in a new 'purpose-built theater' next to London's Wembley Stadium, according to a press statement from 'Hunger Games' movie studio Lionsgate.
Dutch media company Imagine Nation and U.S.-based Triangular Entertainment are teaming with Lionsgate on the stage show, which aims to use 'innovative and immersive staging techniques,' according to the release.
Based on the bestselling books by Suzanne Collins and the Lionsgate films, the show will be co-produced by Imagine Nation cofounder and Tony Award-winning Broadway producer Robin de Levita.
'The theater is a fantastic medium to bring the many meaningful layers of Suzanne Collins' writing to life,' De Levita said in the press statement.
De Levita's recent work includes the Dutch musical 'Soldier of Orange,' staged in a 360-degree rotating auditorium that turns from set to set, and this year's 'Anne,' based on 'The Diary of Anne Frank,' which used rotating life-sized stage sets.
Also producing 'The Hunger Games' theatrical experience are English-performing arts promoter Harvey Goldsmith, R&R Media's Gary Ricci and Triangular Entertainment's Warren Adams, Brandon Victor Dixon and Robert Harris.
The announcement comes two weeks before the penultimate film in the series, 'The Hunger Games - Mockingjay - Part 1,' arrives in theaters Nov. 21.

The movie stars Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, victor of the Hunger Games - an annual televised battle to the death in the future country of Panem. Katniss twice survived the horrors of the arena (in the box-office blockbusters 'The Hunger Games' and 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire') and in the third film becomes the figurehead for a resistance movement planning to overthrow Panem's oppressive government.
The final film, 'Mockingjay - Part 2,' is slated for a Nov. 20, 2015, release. 'Catching Fire' director Francis Lawrence (no relation to Jennifer Lawrence) is directing both films.
