Authorities are searching for a man suspected of killing his 30-year-old live-in girlfriend in Washington state after graphic photos posted online appeared to show her body hours before it was discovered.
David Kalac is suspected of second-degree murder in the death of Amanda Lynn Coplin, according to court documents from Kitsap County.
Photos posted on websites appeared to be of the deceased woman and the inside of the home, according to a probable cause document. The person who posted the photo commented on how the woman was killed and wrote of planning to be fatally shot by police.
Police say they found Coplin's body in a bedroom. Near her head was her driver's license with the word 'dead' written on it. On the blinds were the words 'bad news.'
Court document say Coplin's 13-year-old son told police that his mother and Kalac argued loudly Monday night while he was inside his bedroom.
The teen told police he thought his mom was sleeping in and Kalac was gone when he left the apartment Tuesday morning, according to court documents. Later that day he became worried and called his dad for help. That's when Coplin's body was found.
A call to 911 reported that Coplin's face was bashed in, her car was missing and she was bloody and bruised.
Just hours after Coplin's body was found, Portland police said one of its officers briefly chased down Kalac, who was seen driving Coplin's car. The officer tried to stop the driver early Wednesday but the car sped away. The chase was called off because the car was swerving into oncoming traffic.
Police are still looking for the dead woman's gold 2001 Ford Focus with the Washington license 495-YLY.
