A graduate student in Yale University's Public Health program has been admitted to a New Haven hospital with Ebola like symptoms.
According to Eyewitness News, the student researcher was amongst a group that travelled to Liberia to monitor the crisis in September. The patient is one of two students that were tested while in Liberia and received a negative diagnosis. The two returned on Oct. 11th and voluntarily sequestered themselves.
Yale-New Haven Hospital released the following statement:
'Yale-New Haven Hospital admitted a patient late Wednesday night for evaluation of Ebola-like symptoms,' the hospital said. 'We have not confirmed or ruled-out any diagnosis at this point. We are working in cooperation with city, state and federal health officials. There is no further information available at this time.'
The identity of the patient has not been released nor has any information about their current condition.
If confirmed, this would be the third known case in the United States.
