Lawrence lashes out at hackers

The people who chose to look at nude celebrity photos that hackers posted committed 'a sexual offense,' actress Jennifer Lawrence says in an exclusive interview with Vanity Fair in its November issue.

The Oscar winner, who was among dozens of celebrities whose photos were posted beginning on Aug. 31, attacked both the hackers and those who sought out the photos in the interview, which marked the first time she had publicly commented.

'It is not a scandal. It is a sex crime,' she said about the hackers. 'It is a sexual violation. It's disgusting. The law needs to be changed, and we need to change.'

Of those who looked at the photos, she said, 'Anybody who looked at those pictures, you're perpetuating a sexual offense. You should cower with shame.'

The 24-year-old said the photos were taken for her boyfriend of four years, actor Nicholas Hoult, adding that the hardest phone call she had to make was to her father, telling him that the photos were stolen and posted on the Web.

Apple acknowledged computer hackers targeted and then broke into the accounts of Lawrence and several other stars whose revealing photos were posted online during the Labor Day weekend; the FBI previously confirmed it was investigating.

Judge's order protects Hyland

'Modern Family' actress Sarah Hyland's ex-boyfriend has been ordered to stay away from the actress and not contact her for three years.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Andrea Thompson granted Hyland the protection from actor Matt Prokop.

A hearing on Hyland's request for a stay-away order had been scheduled for Friday, but Prokop did not contest the order.

The 23-year-old actress accused Prokop of choking her and threatening her during their relationship, which ended in August.

Hyland didn't report the incidents to police and Prokop has not been criminally charged.

Prokop co-starred with Hyland in the TV movie 'Geek Charming' and appeared in one episode of 'Modern Family.' He also appeared in 'High School Musical 3.'

Cyrus' VMAs date sentenced

The young man who accompanied Miley Cyrus to the MTV Video Music Awards in August and read her acceptance speech has been sentenced to six months in jail for violating the terms of his probation in Oregon.

Officers led away 22-year-old Jesse Helt in handcuffs Tuesday after he asked Judge Monte Campbell for leniency.

Helt told the judge he'd 'like to be viewed as a good person, not as a nuisance to society.'

Helt was arrested in 2010 on misdemeanor charges. The next year, he failed to meet with his probation officer or complete community service because he'd moved to Los Angeles. He sought modeling work and was homeless from time to time.

Cyrus met him at a shelter.

Publicity from his appearance at the ceremony brought the probation violation to light.
