Stephen Collins Ex

After alleged audio of 7th Heaven actor Stephen Collins child molestation admission surfaced on Tuesday, the actor's lawyer reportedly stated that Collins ex-wife Faye Grant 'repeatedly threatened' to give the tape to the media, while Grant denied releasing the tape.

In addition, TV Guide Network will reportedly cease airing reruns of 7th Heaven, TMZ reported. A rep for the network did not yet respond to a request for comment.

'Over the course of my representation of Stephen in the divorce case, Faye has repeatedly threatened to give this audiotape to the media unless Stephen agreed to pay her millions of dollars more than that to which she was legally entitled,' Collins lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, said in a statement to TMZ.

'When these demands were rebuffed, Faye attempted -- without success -- to peddle the tape in numerous ways to numerous different people. It appears that she has finally found an audience for this tape -- not surprisingly, on the eve of the trial in the divorce case where, again, she is seeking millions of dollars more than that to which she is legally entitled,' Kaplan's statement read.

In 2012, a relative of Collins ex-wife told authorities she had been sexually assaulted by the actor at age 14, CNN reported on Tuesday, citing a senior law enforcement official. The 2012 case has not been reopened although the TMZ recordings will be reviewed, Liliana Preciado, a Los Angeles Police Department public information officer, told THR.

Collins ex-wife Faye Grant, meanwhile, denied that she leaked the molestation admission audio tape to TMZ.

'I woke up today to learn that an extremely private recording I handed over to the authorities in 2012 per their request in connection with a criminal investigation was recently disseminated to the press ... I had no involvement whatsoever with the release of the tape to the media,' Grant said in a statement to People magazine.

People cites Grant's divorce documents from 2013 that state that 'in the presence of his therapist, Stephen admitted that he had engaged in a long term pattern of sexually abusing minor children, including sexually molesting three young girls over a decade ago.'

In the audio tapes posted by TMZ on Tuesday, Collins is allegedly heard admitting to molesting several young girls.

On Tuesday, UP TV stated that it will not air reruns of 7th Heaven. 'As a top family-friendly network, we are deeply concerned for the families that are potentially affected by these disturbing allegations surrounding actor Stephen Collins,' network president Charley Humbard said in a statement.

In addition, the actor was fired from the cast of comedy sequel Ted 2 and had resigned from his position on the SAG-AFTRA board.
