Morning Joe Mocks Grimes over Obama Vote Waffling: 'Don't Treat Us Like We ...

On MSNBC's Morning Joe Friday, show host Joe Scarborough mocked Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes for refusing to definitely state whether she supported President Barack Obama in the 2008 or 2012 elections.

'People aren't that stupid,' said Scarborough, looking fantastically bronzed. 'How could Alison Lundergan Grimes- I mean, what a rookie mistake. Just admit it then say, 'he screwed up, I distance myself from him, I regret my vote.' Just anything but don't treat us like we're stupid.'

Chuck Todd added that Grimes essentially 'disqualified herself' with her answer.

During a live-streamed interview with the editorial board of a Kentucky newspaper, Grimes was asked about her votes in 2008 and 2012. For roughly 40 seconds she deflected and refused to answer directly. 'I think Kentucky Democrats know that I'm a Clinton Democrat, through and through,' she said.

Grimes is running to unseat Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R).
