Mississippi State, Florida State, Auburn and Ole Miss lead the initial College Football Playoff selection committee Top 25 released Tuesday night.
The selection committee, which met for the past two days in Grapevine, Texas, is determining the teams that will play in a four-team tournament for college football's national championship this season. The 12-person group, chaired by University of Arkansas athletics director Jeff Long, is scheduled to meet and release new rankings each Tuesday through Dec. 2.
The committee's final decision is scheduled to come at 12:45 p.m. ET Sunday, Dec. 7. Later that day the committee also will select eight other teams to compete in the Cotton, Fiesta, Orange and Peach bowls.

The national semifinals will be held at the Rose and Sugar Bowls on Jan. 1. The championship game is at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
