New York Red Bulls star Bradley Wright-Phillips tied the MLS' single-season goal-scoring record Sunday night, scoring two goals in New York's final regular-season game.
Wright-Phillips scored once in the 15th minute of the Red Bulls' win over Sporting Kansas City and added the record-tying goal in the 70th minute. He had a chance to break the record in the 83rd minute, but his shot at the bottom-left corner of the goal was saved.
He had to earn the record-tying goal. Wright-Phillips beat and fought off a defender for the ball, then dribbled across the box before firing back across and beating Eric Kronberg in the bottom-left corner of the goal.
