SAN FRANCISCO, CA (NBC/KNTV) - An FBI manhunt is underway for a California man considered armed and dangerous.
The nationwide search for 42-year-old Ryan Kelly Chamberlain was launched over a weekend after a search of Chamberlin's San Francisco apartment turned up explosive material.
Officials will not say what the chemical is, only that if not handled correctly it's potentially deadly.
An FBI source tells NBC affiliate KNTV that Chamberlain may have purchased the chemical, which is often used in assisted suicides, on the Internet.
Authorities will not comment on the intent or motive behind the possession of the explosive material.
