Game 3: Blackhawks lose 4


LOS ANGELES -- The Blackhawks will have to keep stewing.


Coach Joel Quenneville was angry after Game 2, he said. Captain Jonathan Toews said he was 'pissed off.'


Their effort to channel their anger backfired Saturday in Game 3 in a 4-3 loss to the Kings. The Hawks fall behind 2-1 in the Western Conference finals heading into Monday's Game 4 at the Staples Center.


Despite two first-period goals by Toews, the Kings scored three unanswered goals in the second and third periods.


The Blackhawks had hoped to exact revenge after losing Game 2 at the United Center 6-2 behind six unanswered goals by the Kings.


Slava Voynov, Jeff Carter, Tyler Toffoli and Drew Doughty scored for the Kings.


Patrick Sharp scored a meaningless goal for the Hawks with 4.2 seconds left.


Goaltender Corey Crawford saved 23 of 27 shots.


Toews got the Hawks off to a rousing start with a short-handed goal just 5 minutes 26 seconds into the game. He scored on a wrist shot, rebounding a a Michal Rozsival shot past Jonathan Quick.
