Bunny Yeager, a model turned photographer, died Saturday at a hospice in Delray Beach, Fla., according to the Associated Press. She was 85.
Born Linnea Eleanor Yeager in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, on March 13, 1929, she found early success in modeling in the 1940s, when she was one of the most photographed models in Miami, according to the AP.
Yeager started taking self-portraits in the 1950s wearing homemade swimsuits and helped to popularize the bikini. She also photographed Bettie Page in 1954, helping to lift Page into the modeling spotlight.
