Crystal Morrow was flying solo on her first shift as a 911 dispatcher when her family had a medical emergency.
She had already answered 40 emergency calls involving Dekalb County, Georgia, including a robbery in progress and a house fire, Morrow told WAGA-TV.
On Monday, her aunt dialed 911 and Morrow answered. Her father was in diabetic shock. Her hands froze over the keyboard.
'I knew I had to get the call in,' Morrow said.
She told her aunt what to do and immediately dispatched an ambulance to her father's location, reported WAGA-TV.
When the emergency call was over, Morrow got up from her chair and walked outside for a breath.
The woman that trained her, Danielle Harvey, followed her.

'I went to check on her and told her to go see about her family,' Harvey said.
Morrow thanked Harvey for training her to stay calm during such tough situations.
'She wouldn't let me sink,' Morrow added.
Harvey is among 19 dispatchers nominated for the 2014 Smart Telecommunicator Award that applauds those behind 911.
The public votes for the winner, who receives a plaque and a $1,000 donation to a charity of the victor's choice.
