Republicans are likely to have a tea party over these results.
A new Associated Press poll found Democrats in Congress may have a majority in the Senate, but they're losing their edge with voters.
According to the March survey, 37% of registered voters said they would rather see Republicans in control of Congress, while 36% preferred Democrats be in charge.
About 50% of voters who hold strong political beliefs said they favored Republicans, while 37% preferred Democrats. It's a bad trend for Democrats, since that split was more even in January when 42% of voters preferred Democrats and 45% preferred Republicans.

Favorable views of the GOP have improved - especially among Republicans.
Their positive views of the party increased from 57% in January to 72% in March.
The poll also gauged public opinion about potential 2016 presidential candidates.

Hillary Clinton stirred up the most positive feedback, with 46% viewing the former secretary of state positively and 39% unfavorably.
GOP contenders didn't have an outright winner - Paul Ryan garnered the highest favorability, while New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie was a close second, with 26% of voters viewing him positively, compared with 38% viewing him negatively.
About 1,000 voters were surveyed for the poll, with a margin of error of 3.4 points.
