San Pablo Bay
Two small airplanes collided mid-air over San Pablo Bay on Sunday afternoon, with one of the planes reportedly crashing into the water.
The incident happened around 4 p.m., about a mile north of Brothers Island, said U.S. Coast Guard spokeswoman Jeannie Crump.
Four Coast Guard boats and one helicopter were deployed to search for survivors. None had been found as of 5:45 p.m.
'We have debris, but no people in the water,' Crump said.
Crump said the Coast Guard was checking with the Federal Aviation Administration to find out how many people were aboard the downed plane, which was a Cessna.
The second plane landed in Ione, about 40 miles southeast of Sacramento, Crump said.
