LIMA, Peru -- Peru's government says that once Dutch citizen Joran Van der Sloot completes his murder conviction in 2038, he'll be extradited to the U.S. to face trial on charges he extorted and defrauded the mother of a young American woman for whose disappearance he's the chief suspect.
No charges have ever been filed against Van der Sloot in the 2005 disappearance of Natalee Holloway in Aruba. The Alabama teen was declared legally dead in 2012.
Holloway was last seen leaving a bar with Van der Sloot. He's serving time for the murder of another young woman in Peru.
