Champions League quarter

11.12 OK, Barcelona, the four-time champions are first out the pot. And they will play Atletico Madrid.

11.10 And we have a Chelsea fan in the house. Here's Tsiliso Joseph Lekhooa:

Hey Oliver. I'll love to see Chelsea up against Bayern Munich,it will be a good test for Chelsea's defenders, which I thng is their strongest department.

11.08 Luiz Figo, still looking good, is helping Gianni Infantino, the Uefa General Secretary, with the draw ... Meanwhile Anthony Dozie has just confirmed that he is Manchester United supporter. Thanks for that amigo. He writes: 'I don't wanna face #realandpsg. They will be a threat.'

11.05 No ball action yet, I'm afraid. A man in a suit is talking to lots of other men (and a few ladies) in suits now. Presumably he is explaining the fire exit policy, or something. Here is Steve Searle's wish:

They are all tasty ties, aren't they?

11.00 And we are now live in Nyon. My good cricketing pal Mike Bryan-Jones is a United fan and this is the order he would like:

Do you agree?

10.58 I've just seen the room where the draw is taking place in Nyon (wouldn't it be great if it was all in neon?) and the countdown clock says we will start proceedings in T-7 mins.

Meanwhile here is Ross Dunbar, who I suspect is a Manchester United fan:

If Man Utd avoid Barca, Real and Bayern they've got a good outside, longshot chance of going through against any of the rest.

10.55 Looking at those odds, I reckon PSG are a pretty good price each way. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is angry that he is not going to be at the World Cup. He can win it for his team. There's my expert advice. That, and he can do this:

10.45 Who do you want? Why? Who do you fear? Who don't you fear? Let me know and I'll let the world know. Here's Anthony Dozie. I'm not sure who he supports, but he must have had a dream about the draw last night and is in a predictive mood:

10.40 So what do the bookies think, before this quarter-final draw? Bayern, last year's victors, are the favourites and hte best odds you will get on the German giants are about 15/8.

Next in line is Real Madrid, who are firing with Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo at the moment. They are priced around 4/1. Barcelona are about the same price. Next is PSG, who are at 11/1, followed by Chelsea (14/1), Atletico Madrid (16/1), Borussia Dortmund (20/1) and lagging behind at the back are Manchester United, who are out at 22/1.

10.35 And here is last year's final, between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, in Lego.

10.30 Here are some Manchester United fans, presumably from Salford, ready for the draw ...

10.25 The Chelsea manager has a point: those eight are probably the strongest teams in Europe. No Italian sides, note, and no Manchester City, who would like to think they ready to dine with the big boys at the top table. Not this year, Manuel.

10.15 Jose Mourinho, a man never scared of casting the first stone, has already played the Mario Balotelli 'Why Always Me?' card and said this:

You have two finalists last season [Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund], the two Spanish giants, Atletico Madrid, who are obviously a fantastic team, Paris Saint-Germain with everything they represent ... I think maybe all of them want us. I think Chelsea is maybe the most outsider of the group, us and Manchester United.

I really wished and believed Manchester United would beat Olympiakos ... and they did as I expected. Maybe they look at Man United, who are not having fantastic season, and us.

There is nothing to choose [in the Champions League]. All the big teams are there. Sometimes you have an outsider, which nobody expects anything from, with less experience. Not now.

10.10 Good morning football fans. Welcome to this Champions League draw live blog. The best eight teams in Europe, supposedly, will be watching nervously as their balls will be pulled out of a bowl in Nyon, Switzerland, from 11am (British time) onwards.

Some basics to get your head around: * At this stage of the competition there are no seeds and clubs from the same country can be drawn against each other, meaning Real Madrid could face La Liga rivals Barcelona. * The first legs will take place on Tuesday, 1 April 2014 and Wednesday, 2 April 2014 with the return legs taking place on Tuesday, 8 April and Wednesday, 9 April.

Buckle up. It should be some ride.
