Clippers come up short at finish against Warriors

OAKLAND -- Clearly, the Clippers and Golden State Warriors do not like each other and they have displayed that animosity in both of their games this season.

Blake Griffin was involved in two incidents Wednesday night, both leading to technical fouls, which led to his ejection in the fourth quarter.

When the two teams decided to actually play basketball, it turned out to be an exciting back-and-forth game that the Clippers lost, 105-103, at Oracle Arena.

Chris Paul, who finished with 26 points and 11 assists, missed two shots that could have tied the score late. He had one shot blocked out of bounds by Klay Thompson with one second left.

Jamal Crawford then missed an off-balance, three-point shot for the win as time expired.

At the end, the Clippers and Warriors were on the court trash-talking instead of going to their locker rooms. Both sides had to be separated by coaches and security.

It wasn't until the end of the third quarter that the Clippers and Warriors displayed their dislike for each other.

Griffin and Warriors reserve Draymond Green stood at half court and did a lot of trash-talking, leading to each receiving a technical foul.

But after the officials reviewed the play, Green was called for a flagrant foul two and ejected from the game for hitting Griffin in the neck area when the two were going for a rebound.

Then with 10:43 left and the score tied, 78-78, Griffin and Andrew Bogut got mixed up and had to be separated.

Bogut was called for a flagrant foul one and each player was assessed a technical foul.

The loss of Griffin -- who had 20 points on eight-for-16 shooting, 14 rebounds and five assists - proved costly for the Clippers.

During that first game, DeAndre Jordan and Bogut were issued technical fouls for pushing each other.

Paul glared at Klay Thompson frequently after scoring over the Warriors' guard and Griffin bumped into Warriors Coach Mark Jackson on the sideline when the Clippers' forward took the ball out of bounds in front of Golden State's bench.
