The Rolling Stones rallied around a heartbroken Mick Jagger on Wednesday as the body of his longtime lover L'Wren Scott was taken from the morgue to a Manhattan funeral home.
'No one saw this coming,' said Keith Richards, who co-wrote most of the band's hits with Jagger. 'Mick's always been my soul brother and we love him. We're thick as thieves and we're all feeling for the man.'

Richards said pulling the plug on their sold-out tour of Australia and New Zealand was the right thing to do.
'We really hate to disappoint our fans but we'll see everyone really soon,' he said in a statement provided by Jagger's representatives.

'This is such terrible news and right now the important thing is that we are all pulling together to offer Mick our support and help him through this sad time,' guitarist Ronnie Wood added. 'Without a doubt we intend to be back out on that stage as soon as we can.'
Drummer Charlie Watts says taking care of Mick is the priority right now.

'Needless to say we are all completely shocked but our first thought is to support Mick at this awful time,' he said. 'We intend to come back to Australia and New Zealand as soon as it proves possible.'
Jagger is still holed up in a hotel room in Perth, Australia, which is where the Stones were supposed to kick off their tour, The Daily News has learned.

There were reports that Jagger was planning to head back to New York City, but as of Wednesday afternoon the Rolling Stones' private plane was still on the tarmac at Perth International Airport.
Several trucks pulled up to the plane at one point, but there was no sign of the band.

Meanwhile, the Medical Examiner confirmed what had been suspected, that Scott's death was a suicide, and said that her remains had been picked up by a funeral home.
The body was believed to be heading to the Frank E. Campbell Funeral Home on Madison Ave., which does a lot of celebrity wakes including the recent one for actor Philip Seymour Hoffman.
'No one has called us yet,' a funeral home spokesman said.
Out in Utah, Scott's brother-in-law said she died just as the womanizing Rolling Stone was considering doing the unthinkable - settling down.

'Mick had recently decided to end his hotel lifestyle and I understand they had just bought a $10 million home in New York,' Rob Shane told The News.
While it could not be immediately corroborated whether Jagger bought any real estate of late, records showed the remaining $1.25 million that Scott owed on the Chelsea apartment where she lived and died was paid last year.

Jagger poured out his grief over the death of his 'lover and best friend' on his website.
'I will never forget her,' he wrote. 'I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way. We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves.'

Jagger, 70, and Scott, a celebrated 49-year-old fashion designer and former model, had been together since 2001.
There was no note when Scott was found in her posh pad by an assistant she had texted earlier. And Jagger's representatives have swatted away reports that the couple was in jeopardy.

But records revealed that Scott's fashion business was in serious financial trouble and nearly $6 million in the red. She was reportedly planning to shut the operation down when she killed herself.
